Beginner Workshop no. 2

£20.00

This 2 1/4 hour workshop is the follow on class from the "Introduction to Knitting" workshop . It is suitable for all students who have attended that class with me and for all knitters who can knit and purl and who want to further their skills. We will be learning how to increase and decrease stitches to make shaped knitted fabric. There are many ways to do increases and decreases but we will look at the most common and simple methods. We will also learn how to do rib stitch which you will see examples of on hat cuffs, socks cuffs, jumper cuffs and sometimes whole garments like scarves and hats. To finish off we will look at how to fix mistakes! This is absolutely vital for you to continue your knitting journey a home without any help. The most common mistakes are dropped stitches and once you learn how to pick them up you will grow in confidence. There are other common mistakes like twisted stitches and accidentally adding stitches which we will also look at depending on time. While you practise these techniques I will explain when, where and why you would use them. The cost of the workshop also includes a variety of free knitting patterns chosen specifically for your ability level where you can practise your new found skills. These include beanie hats, tube socks, soft toys, pumpkin ornaments, wrist warmers and even a basic jumper! You will also be invited to my Facebook group exclusively for my students where i share tips , videos and more free patterns. As always my classes are fun, friendly and relaxed so don't worry if you think you are not good enough.....you are :) .Classes are a maximum of 8 to ensure you receive ample individual tuition.
