Wrington advanced knitters Gloves and cable cup cosy course
This is a 3 part course where we will learn to knit the gorgeous gloves pictured. If you can't make it to the last class please have a chat with me and I'll see what I can do . The colour options are on the last photo above ⬆️
Class 1 - Tuesday September 24th Glove cast on and cuff
Class 2 - Tuesday October 1 st - glove thumb gusset
Class 3 - Tuesday October 8th cable cup cosy
In the first workshop we will learn the ornate German twisted cast on . Then we will recap on how to knit magic loops in the round and knit eye of partridge textured stitch . This will cover the skills to knit the cuff of the gloves. I will add a couple of other techniques too , on separate needles to keep the class interesting! Jennys super stretchy cast off is very useful as are fixing mistakes tips. I may ask if anyone has anything specific they want to cover . In the second workshop will we bring out glove cuff to class and learn how to crest a thumb gusset . This skill will enable you to knit gloves forever, once you've mastered it! Again I'll add other skills to this class.
The third workshop will be knitting a simple cable cup cosy with the remainder of your 100g ball of yarn! 70g makes the gloves . There will be 2 versions to choose from . One for students with no or little cabling experience and one for the more adventurous!
You will receive all the patterns for free. The yarn I use is a beautiful alpaca sheep blend by Drops yarn called Drops Nepal. It is £4.80 for 100g which is very inexpensive for the quality. I have ordered a selection of colours pictured above . Please make your choice with the drop down option when checking out. If you have yarn at home you want to use of course you can but it has to be 150metres per 100g .
The first 2 workshops are 1 ½ hours -( we may run over as it's a new course so I'm not sure on timing!)
The 3rd one is 2 hours so a total of 5 hours + tuition and class time .
All at Wrington chapel 7pm start. I have taken into account the varying standards of this class so ladies new to the group please don't worry! It's all pretty straightforward stuff and we'll take it step by step .
