Shipham learn to crochet course November 7th-21st-28th 10.30am-12pm

A 3 week beginner crochet course held at Shipham Village Hall, "Star Room". There is an ample free car park at the venue . The class dates are November 7th, November 21st and November 28th. Classes are 90 mins running from 10.30am-12pm. Classes are a maximum of 6 students
Over the course of the classes we will be learning how to crochet. We will start by learning how to hold a hook and yarn. Then I teach you how to chain (the equivalent of casting on in knitting) and how to do the basic stitches.
We will then learn how to make granny squares and read patterns in week two . In week 3 we move on to learning how to shape our work to make amigurumi ( animals) .
Lots of my students like to sew granny squares together to make cardigans and bags. This craft is so versatile, and much quicker than knitting. All materials and hooks will be available to borrow in class, but if you want to practise at home , I suggest buying your own hook or set of hooks. I will give you suggestions to which to buy, once you have booked on. You will receive all class handouts via email to print ant home ( if you don’t have a printer I can help) . If you have to miss a class due to illness etc, you will receive instruction and video tutorials via email so you don’t fall behind.
After this course there will be the opportunity to continue onto advanced beginner crochet course where we learn more decorative stitches and techniques. I hope you can join us to brighten up the November mornings, with some colourful crochet!
