Learn to Knit Class Tuesday 6th-27th Sept 2022 . At 10.30am - 12pm Grove Farm Barn Winscombe

A friendly, relaxed and fun four week course of 4 x 90 min classes for 8 complete beginner knitters. Tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits will be provided.

You will be learning a brief history of knitting, different wools and yarn weights and how different needle sizes create different effects. I will be teaching you to cast on and cast off (putting stiches onto and off the needles) and the two main stitches called Knit and Purl.

You will then be given a choice of knitting either wrist warmers or a hot water bottle cover and over the weeks you will be working on your chosen project in class and at home. You can even do both projects if you find you are able to knit a lot between classes. You will need size 4mm needles and 100g of DK weight yarn which you can bring with you or at an extra cost of £8 pre-order from me. The yarn I will provide will be 100% sheep wool which comes in the colour selection on the chart in the photo above. Please send me an email along with your payment telling me which colour you would like to order at least 10 days before the course start date. Each week I will also be teaching you new techniques according to the individuals pace and standard , I will be guided by you .

Once I have received your booking payment I will email you the information you need re directions, arrival time, parking , toilets, etc. I will be holding advanced beginner , Intermediate classes next month so you can progress through the different stages with me as your tutor if you would like to.

Please note this class location has three very friendly resident cats who may pop in from time to time so it may be unsuitable for those with severe cat allergies! I will be holding classes at other venues so keep a look out on my website.
