Introduction to Knitting workshop at Wrington Chapel Tuesday Nov 22nd 7-9 pm

£20.00

A friendly, relaxed and fun workshop to introduce you to knitting. This workshop is an ideal taster session to see if it is what you are looking for before the commit to my 4 week block classes.
I will teach a very brief history of knitting and process of wool production from sheep to yarn. I will then talk about different wools and yarn weights and how different needle sizes create different effects. I will show you samples of lacework, colour-work and cables before we quickly move on to your own hands on practise. I will teach you as a group to cast on (putting stitches onto the needles) and the two main stitches called Knit and Purl . Towards the end of the class I will teach you how to cast off so that you can take your own piece of knitted work home as a memento. In groups that all have a bit of previous experience we may have time to move into increases and decreases to shape your work but each group is did and I tailor it on the spot the the groups standard so nobody gets left behind.

Once I have received your booking payment I will email you the information you need re directions, arrival time, parking , toilets, etc. I will also be holding advanced beginner and Intermediate classes this Winter so you can progress through the different stages with me as your tutor.
Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be provided as will needles and yarn to practice with. Needles are to be returned but you can take home your sample of your first knitted piece!
You will be invited to join my private Facebook knit club exclusively for students who have come to my classes or workshops where I share a wealth of handy tips, free patterns and video tutorials.
This workshop will be held in the St Vincent Room at Lady of our Apostles Catholic Church in Tweentown in Cheddar. There is onsite ample parking and disabled access.

Thank you for booking on to my knitting class and I look forward to seeing you very soon!
