Children's Friendship Workshop Wrington Chapel Mon 21st August 10.30am-12.30
A 2 hour workshop at Wrington Chapel Mon 21st August 10.30am- 12.30 pm. All children under 10 to be accompanied by an adult or older sibling. Older children can be dropped off with a prompt pick up. When booking please add a note telling me your child's 2 favourite colours as I will prepare the threads before class. All threads are 100% cotton, no plastic is used in this workshop :)
A 2 hour children's workshop for the School holidays for all ages. We will be learning how to make simple friendship bracelets using embroidery thread. This ancient craft is popular with children and adults. For the younger children I will teach and help them to make simple braid and spiral bracelets. For the older children I will teach stripes and chevrons, using the typical knot technique. Everyone will go home with as many bracelets as they can make in the time, and a leaflet with instructions on how to make various different designs at home during the holidays. All thread will be provided for class work, as will squash and pop. You are very welcome to bring your own snacks, this is a very laid back class. Parents can drop off older children, or stay to join in. It is a lovely way to spend the morning ! Small classes of only 6-8 children to ensure everyone gets the individual attention they need.
For those who don't know me, I had a swim school in Congresbury for a decade. I closed in 2019 to focus on my new Knitting business. I love teaching crafts to children, and found that after trying knitting classes that children tend to lack the dexterity for knitting and were getting frustrated. So I am now excited to teach friendship bracelets! There's a design which is suitable for every child to make and it is a satisfying and cheap craft.
